Greetings. If you see this post and wonder where I've been, I refer you to my new journal, hisexcellencyq, and apologize that you didn't learn of it sooner. As some of you know, and some of you do not, I have been working on a website to run an online RPG based on the Gundam Wing universe. The site is just about finished and signups are now open. As long as enough people sign up, play is expected to launch starting on September 1, 2006. http://www.gundamfever.comThe game is forum-based, and thus is a little more open-ended, and not what you would expect at a table-based RPG - i.e., there is nobody moderating the gameplay, and you don't need to have other players present to move forward; players will post their interactions when they have the chance to come online. (Of course, the forum will have moderators, but that's a totally different thing, and hopefully their action will be sparsely required.) Cross posted to my new journal, and possibly elsewhere, so I apologize in advance to those who see this more than once. If you're interested, go ahead and sign up - and if you know anyone who may be, feel free to refer them. Current Mood: chipper

14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"[b] and he was called God's friend. 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

I haven't done much posting lately. I'm now working at a pharmaceutical company Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 9:00 p.m. It's a little closer to where I live, and pays a little better than the last job I held. The hours leave a little to be desired, but I won't complain - for now. A couple weeks ago we were at a Hollywood Video looking for a documentary that Melanie needed to watch for a class, and they were having a sale to get rid of some of their old VHS tapes - Five for $5. We picked up Fievel Goes West, Doug's 1st Movie, Prehysteria, The Brave Little Toaster, and a Veggie Tales video. We also saw The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe a few weeks ago, and it was good, but it's not fresh enough in my mind to give commentary about it. I liked some of the parallelism. The theater we found was very cheap, too. Yesterday we went shopping at an outlet mall about an hour north of Chicago. This place was huge, and it was fun to walk around, though all we bought were some audio cassettes (for $1 each!) and a birthday present for Melanie's brother. We were going to go grocery shopping on the way home, but we realized that we didn't really need any groceries. I still feel like I'd like to try starting my own business, but Chicago isn't really the place - neither of us want to live in the city any longer than is neccessary for her schooling. Perhaps next we'll move to Tempe, or maybe Des Moines. Or Kentucky, or Pittsburgh. Who knows. Current Mood: full Current Music: Puh-lah-mah-lu

Ground rules: the first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits of yours" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 quirky habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.
1. I can't wear a sock that has a hole in it. If one sock gets so much as the tiniest hole in it, I throw the pair away. 2. I don't mind doing housework, except for one thing: I hate to wash dishes. I will sweep and vacuum the floor, clean the toilet, take out the trash, and dust the furniture before I'll look at the dishes. When I do wash dishes, I have to rinse everything completely spotless before I even start. Then I clean out the sink, and start washing. Otherwise I feel like I'm washing them in dirty water. 3. I compulsively chew on small plastic objects - pencaps, caps from water bottles. . I don't even think about it. It just happens. 4. When I cook, I don't follow recipes or directions. I just don't. This is probably why Melanie does the baking. 5. I like to sing, but when I sing songs, I rarely sing the real lyrics; I always make up silly lyrics.
Instead of tagging five people, I'll just leave it open for whomever.
